I saw this tweet and I thought I absolutely had to go to check out this event. I have heard about these things that Chad Ochocinco does, and two years ago I even considered going to one, but I couldn't make it. Tonight I saw Chad tweet this around 5:00, I wanted to already be down in Beverly Hills, but with traffic I decided not to go early. I decided to try my luck and see if I could miss the traffic and still get there in time. Right away I saw people getting there at 5, but after doing some research and tweeting some people that were at the event, I decided at 7 that I would still get in. Not knowing what it would be like, I decided to take my mom. I didn't want to just be sitting there alone all night, and I figured she'd enjoy a free meal. We got there around 7:35 and when we went to walk in the door, the chef was standing at the door and gave us a look like, what are you doing here. I said, "are we one of the first 200 people? I am here for dinner with, Chad." He immediately light up, like that was the exact answer he was looking for. When we got inside we were informed that dinner would be free, and it would be served when Chad got there at 9. Also we had to pay for our own drinks, not a problem. My mom and I sat down and had a drink and just relaxed. At almost 9 o'clock exactly, Chad arrived. He gathered everyone and brought them to the center of the restaurant. Chad invited 200 people, but I bet that there were about 100 people there. He thanked everyone for coming and said he likes to do stuff like this every time he is in Los Angeles. He apologized because he hasn't been here in two years. Then he made everyone hold hands and said, "Where I am from, we don't eat until we say the damn prayer." Then everyone laughed and he said, something like "Stop taking fucking pictures so we can pray." and then he made everyone repeat after him with a prayer. I thought I had it on video, but now its not uploading so we will see if it works. It took a while for the service to come, but our food finally started to trickle in about an hour later. I got the salmon.
Fancy right? Chad was making his rounds and introduced himself to every single person as they were eating. He could not have been more of a class act. I asked if I could get my picture with him, and he said "We are going to do that after dinner, I am going to go eat and then we are going to go take care of all that good stuff." That didn't happen for another hour and a half, but after dinner, and dessert Chad came out and started taken photos with people. I got my photo with him and he signed two cards and an 8x10 for me. Dude could not have been cooler. I am so happy I felt bad that I dragged my mom along because it took some time waiting for Chad to finish up and interact with the fans a second time, but this could not have been a cooler experience. I personally want to thank Chad for being so cool and spending 10,000.00+ on random strangers, thats just flat out unheard of. I am glad there are some good people out there!
